CHAIRMAN'S MESSAGE
The Government of Karnataka has constituted the Karnataka Skill Development Authority under the Department of Skill Development, Entrepreneurship and Livelihood in order to give a centralized role in the matter of standardization and quality skills training. The Karnataka Skill Development Authority is responsible for the establishment of quality standards in skills training. The Authority will prepare the curriculum, course content, and credit frameworks for skill training. It lays down guidelines for the training of trainers, prepares standards for skill training, and also improves standards of the skill programs in the State. The Authority also designs and develops labour market information systems based on global standards and best practices. It will work as a think-tank forum for research inputs relating to skill development. The Authority will strive hard to fulfill the growing need in the State for skilled manpower across sectors and narrow the existing gap between the demand and supply of skills.
About Us
The Government of Karnataka has constituted the Karnataka Skill Development Authority under the Department of Skill Development, Entrepreneurship, and Livelihood. The following are the aims and objectives of the Authority:-
- Establish quality standards in skills training.
- Prepare curriculum, course content, and credit frameworks for skills training.
- Prepare guidelines for training of trainers.
- Prepare standards for skill training and improve the standards of the skill programs in the State.
- To design and develop labour market information systems and data systems based on global standards and best practices.
- To work as a think-tank forum for research inputs relating to skills development.
- To take up other activities in order to fulfill the objectives of the KSDA.
